What’s new in iOS6 Safari

June 12, 2012 by Remi G. - 0 comments

Based on WWDC 2012, this is what we can say about iOS6 Safari coming this autumn:
- CSS3 filters support
- Web Audio API support
- Input file (upload pictures or videos from camera & camera roll)
- Fullscreen mode in landscape
- Reading list webpages available offline
- Remote WebInspector (like RIM OS7 & PlaybookOS – previous Developer console has been removed)
- requestAnimationFrame CSS (with a webkit prefix)
- AppCache upgraded from 5mb to 25mb

iOS6 is already available as beta1 for developers, with a public release this autumn. Supported devices: iPhone3GS, 4 & 4G, iPad 2 & new iPad, iPod Touch 4th generation and newer.

Yet a pretty impressive list, we must give Apple a brand new award: the most useless & stupid feature ever in a web browser! This award comes from SmartBanners. If a native application exists for your website, a banner will comes on top so user can load it right from the browser (or install it from there). Could please someone explain me why i would wait to load or download an app to read a content i’m already reading?!
